Me & The Bees Lemonade is a lemonade business with the social mission of saving honeybees, hence the slogan, ‘buy a bottle… save a bee,” founded in 2009 by mom and daughter founders, D’Andra and Mikaila Ulmer. At only 15, Mikaila is a young social entrepreneur in her own right, and has led workshops on how to save the honeybees, participated in social entrepreneurship panels, and trained young and/or women entrepreneurs in finance and entrepreneurship including at Microsoft and the White House. They sell their products through their website and the 1800+ stores in the U.S. carrying their products, including Whole Foods.

Following the publication of Mikaila’s first book, Sheryl Sandberg wrote a blurb about it after getting one of the first copies, and Mikaila went on to meet with Sheryl Sandberg at an SMB Roundtable in Austin TX in 2018. Pre-COVID, 68% of their Shopify traffic is generated from Facebook and 75% of Mikaila’s speaking work requests are coming from Facebook/Instagram, and there is a direct correlation between the traffic to the website and the amount of speaking opportunities booked or orders placed.
